An engaging plot, vastly improved gameplay and a cool V.A.T.S. feature make Fallout 4 an absolutely smashing action adventure game. It’s epic and it’s worth every penny!
Fallout 4 has to be one of the most awaited games of this decade but there is no doubting that the game was truly worth the wait. Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, Fallout 4 is the next installment in a series which has set a benchmark like none other in action video games. The game stays true to many of the hit elements of past releases while brings advancements that would surely get any gamers adrenaline pumping.
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world with a nuclear war totally destroying everything. After waiting in a vault for over 210 years, the player sets foot back into the world in October, 2287. The storyline of the game is a search and revenge mission with the main focus on taking revenge for the death of the spouse and to search for the son who went missing during the 210 year hiatus. With a very personal plot and twists and turns in the story at every point, there are so much surprises waiting to totally blow the gamers away.
The most impressive thing about the entire Fallout series has been that the gameplay has always been a notch above the rest. Fallout 4’s gameplay doesn’t disappoint either. The game retains most of the gameplay from Fallout 3 but there is a different feel to the game because of the many added features.
The map is literally huge and the first-person and third-person cameras are easy to work with. Every new addition to the game improves the gameplay with the crafting system probably the best of the lot. The game gives you control over all the loot items and its all upto you to decide how and where you use them to create and craft whatever you want.
A dialogue delivery system has also been added in the game to make it more engaging with the intense voice-over doing a nice job during tense moments. It’s not a huge addition but it helps as the dialogues put the gravity of the situation very well. The armored system and the base building feature are also great additions to the gameplay.
The vast range of enemies on offer is surprising and a lot of thought has gone into developing the enemy characters too which is terrific as many games don’t put a lot of effort in developing the enemies. From super mutants to feral ghouls, there is an army waiting to be vanquished in the game!
V.A.T.S (Vault-tech Assisted Targeting System)
The biggest improvement in Fallout 4 has to be the addition of V.A.T.S. The system makes combat a lot more fun and interesting. The system basically slows down the fighting so that you have more control over where you want to target your enemy. The fighting, as a consequence, becomes very real and very engaging.
