What is the deal with DL-Quarterly?

Why not sell your games one at a time?

[Technically we still do.  All back issues are for sale through Divine Legacy Games for $12.00 each.  However, the subscription method is the method we prefer to sell out games.]

Who is the author of DL-Quarterly?

[That would be me, Troy M. Costisick. My first published RPG was Ember Twilight. Our first year was successful, but soon my priorities and the priorities of Twilight Press diverged. I have since left that company, but wish them all the best. They're a great group of guys. I've moved on now and am working on several new designs of my own.  DL-Quarterly was an idea sparked by Ken Hite who noticed the trend towards periodical games and supplements in the RPG market.  I have embraced that trend and hope to facilitate the growth of short-term, quickplay games.]

What are DL-Quarterly games like?

[Games released through DL-Quarterly are designed in a specific way.  First, priority is given to quick character generation.  The point of these games is to get to playing as fast as possible.  Expect no more than 20 to 25 minutes max to get characters made for all the players.  That time will diminish further as you get to know the games better and better.  In fact, several of the games can generate characters in less than 5 minutes.  Second, in keeping with that philosophy, prep time for a DL-Quarterly game is kept to a minimum.  Players and GMs should expect to spend no more than 10 to 30 minutes getting ready for the night's session.  Certain games like Cutthroat and Standoff require no prep time what-so-ever.  Finally, a complete game (or campaign for lack of a better word) can be played in a single sitting.  That means, you can have a great time and tell your character's story in 2 to 5 hours.  You can always continue their story later, but a complete game can usually be played in one evening.]

When is do DL-Quarterly games come out?

[Every three months.  Sometimes it will be at the beginning of the month, sometimes at the end.  Usually it will depend on the printer and time constraints on the author.]
